That's good. I mean they're frequent back home, but I've just never had the time to actually join one. Or to be honest the desire to. Never seemed personable enough to me.
Oh. Well, that's actually not close to the strangest thing I've heard of, even before I came here.
[working with alien technology gives you a pretty high threshold for weird]
So, when you say old fashioned--does that just extend to your familiarity with technology at this point, or more political or lifestyle sorts of things, too?
[she's far from the most liberal in some of the realms that people of Eudio like to focus on, but it's still important for other reasons]
More my familiarity with things. I've been up and on my feet for a few years now. I've had some time to adjust and get used to the things I had to. But I didn't have time to dip my toes into other things. Less crucial things. Like dating apps.
[ Steve was always pretty liberal. Even when he was in his time. That was just one of the things that made it harder for him to get close to people. ]
I guess you'd probably put me more on the liberal end. Even in the forties.
If it makes it any better, I actually didn't use them either before I came here. Which is why I let one of my friends rewrite mine recently, which explains why it doesn't really sound like how I speak otherwise. I try to see most of the things he thought to put there as complimentary.
[but it will probably grab attention at some point. She't not sure what kind of attention]
Well, I might say I'm surprised, but I guess I shouldn't be if you agreed to come here. And I know that there were always people more...open-minded, to some degree or another, thankfully.
[her chosen work aside, she has enough baggage around things related to being female, she wouldn't want to talk to anyone who had too old fashioned ideas around what women were supposed to be]
You're a damn fine looking man for nearly a century old. Do you lead with that with the ladies, though? You could get a label. 'Genetically enhanced' man.

I don't see how I couldn't give a chance to the best looking 98 year old I've ever seen in my life. I mean, I assume you're mortal, yes?
[There are deities in her world who are hundreds of years old. Everyone else ages.]
And for what it's worth I never used one of these things before I got here so you're not alone in that. :)

As mortal as they come, ma'am.

I've always been more interested in older men, but I must say this is a new one for me.

[ Most people ask about how it happened. At this point he's not really against explaining it. ]

I'm afraid I don't have a lot of practice with dating apps. Work kept me pretty busy.

[ she wouldn't use them even if they did. ]
What kind of work?
no subject
I did a lot of freelance.

Freelance?

I was brought in when normal measures didn't work.

Though old fashioned makes you sound like you're not likely to go for this. You a vampire or something?
no subject
[ Gotta make friends somehow. ]
Go for what? You mean this type of interaction? Like on apps and such?
Not a vampire. Genetic enhancements.

It'd be one hell of a conversation starter.

[ There's no telling how he'd look if he had aged naturally with the serum without the help of the ice. ]
Not really. Back home most people just knew. I was sorta already known.
